I ran a 4:25 marathon, one of my slowest. Running a marathon is a humbling experience. I would struggle every step of the way. My legs felt like lead. Several days earlier, my back would go out. The feeling in my mind of not even starting the race petrified me. I would come all this way, and not even run the race?! Holy cow! Luckily I would get some muscle relaxers from my doctor and think postive thoughts. It all worked.
I will share more about this race and my 22-year journey shortly. Stay-tuned!
I like that we start off with views of the water, and then almost a third of the way through getting to the downown area. I like that I will see the finish, something to look forward to.
The course looks pretty interesting at the start. A quick drop in the first mile or so, and then a steady incline to mile 6ish. The elevation begins to increase from mile 10 to 17, and then declines all the way to 25. A slight increase from there to the finish line. Nothing crazy!
For me, this course isn't intimidating one bit. Fort Collins was indimidating to me. Also, running in Montana makes me sweat just thinking about it! My only hope is that the temperature remains cool, preferably cold:).
